Located in the prestigious Lake Sherwood Estates, the original Stafford Residence was part of the neighborhood’s initial development by billionaire David Murdock, who purchased the lake and surrounding area in the 1980’s to create a gated community along the water. The new owners have embarked on a complete reimagination of the existing 6,600 square foot Colonial-style home, including a new build addition that expands the impressive estate to over 8,000 square feet in total.
The new plans feature a modernized flow and expanded use of the 1.3 acre lot. Unobstructed views of the lake were prioritized in the open-air design, from the moment you walk through the front door and in almost every room of the house thereafter. An existing carport was removed to make way for an architectural breezeway, which connects to a new pool house and garage.
Extensive site improvements include landscaping and hardscaping with an array of outdoor recreational amenities - from a bocce ball court to a vineyard. A new pool is being constructed next to the pool house with plenty of integrated seating around fire and water features. In the front of the house, an impressive motor court creates a stately entrance. The project is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2023.
